Why did you select this song as your single?
I chose this song as my single entitled “Want Some You” because I felt that it reflects both my ability as a singer/songwriter, and because I had a chance to write it with a good friend of mine, Manny DeAnda, who is also featured in the song, and was the lead singer in the R & B platinum selling group, Pretty Ricky
What was the writing process like for this song?
My writing process was very much a learning process. Manny wrote and sung the hook around the instrumentation, which was done by Van Taylor of 310 recording studio. I wrote and sung the verses. I had never written such a sensual song before and it was a privilege to do it with such talented people.
How does this song relate to the rest of the Album?
The album, which I call “Soular Eclipse” is an album that reflects my take on love, passion, and soul. I feel like this, Philly has a powerful soul seen, with artists like Jill Scott & Musiq to name a few. It’s time for Pittsburgh to have the same. I call my style “Steel City Soul.” I want to show the world how Pittsburgh does soul music, and this song is a great reflection of that.
Why do you do music?
I do music because it’s in me,and it’s a part of my life. I truly believe that you don’t choose your dreams; your dreams choose you. Music has chosen me, and I embrace it wholeheartedly.
What are your upcoming events?
I’ll be playing the legendary Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh in December (exact date to be determined.) I headlined Hard Rock live in June for my Cd release and it went spectacularly well.
