Four piece rock group from Lafayette, LA, with strong influence from Alternative rock and Pop music.

Formed in 2015, this quartet boasts powerful vocal melodies, swirling guitar lines and rhythms that are very reminiscent of modern alt-rock bands like The 1975 and Kings of Leon. Even with a steady rock aesthetic in their portfolio, they can quickly find themselves drawing from classic rock, blues and even R&B influences.
Gabe’s voice cuts through each song with memorable lyrics, catchy melodies and a pop sensibility that would garner quick attention for most radio listeners. Strange Theories has built up a loyal following in the South Louisiana region and they now have their eyes set up on national and international aspirations.

With their big debut due out in later 2017, be on the lookout for this indie rock band on the rise.
Gabe also was on NBC’s The Voice in 2016 and was picked by Blake Shelton to be on his team. Blake’s comment: When you started singing, you sounded like such a freaking stud,” Shelton gushed. “You’re the guy I’ve been waiting for.”

Why did you select this song as your current single?

It is our latest release and demonstrates the new direction that we are taking our sound. We felt that with the raw elements of our first EP, we wanted the same kind of energy but with a little bit more production in the mix. The vocal melody we felt was strong enough to serve as good lead-in as to how the rest of the record will sound.

How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?

This song has a strong emotional appeal, which we aim to achieve in our next EP. We try to touch upon very personal subjects like love and heartbreak.

What was the writing process for the song?

This song had an entirely different chorus/sound to it; we continuously made minor changes to it which eventually led to what it is today. Our engineers at our studio were very quick to help craft the overall production value of the song once we laid down the basic rhythm elements, chords and vocal parts. It actually came together pretty quickly!

What does this song’s lyric mean to you?

These lyrics represent the lack of reciprocation in a toxic relationship that eventually wears you out beyond repair.

What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?

High energy, like the rest of our performances, which is odd because of the songs meaning, haha. But we try to make all of our songs, like this one, very crowd interactive.

Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?

Yes, this song definitely depicts where we are wanting our sound to be, but as we release new content there are more layers to unveil. We do have more synth type of stuff that we are including as well.

Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?

Yes, we have released a video that portrays the relationship described in the song.

One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?

Our love for music comes from the support from fans we have received from our beginning to now, and the emotional investment that comes with supporting a band. Growing up, we’ve listened to a lot of music from classic rock, blues and RnB and we’re trying to communicate that energy to the newer generation of listeners our age. Great music can transcend boundaries and time – we’d love to be in the conversation regarding great bands and timeless songs!
