Why did you select this song as your current single?
“I picked this song as my single because I feel people can relate to it. Men and women can relate to having someone they like or want to be with. We also have that one person we are constantly thinking about and that one ex that drives us crazy.”
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
“Slow It Down relates to the rest of the album by the fact that I have love, break up, and relationship songs on the album, songs like Mad World, Static Perception, Where Were You?, In My World, Safety First, Someone Love You, and Time To Go. Except the topic of Slow It Down is mostly on the positive side of relationships. My part is mainly naming what I like about the person I am talking to in the song, Y0Cvndy’s part is naming what she will do for her boyfriend, and explaining what she wants and needs, and her time with not feeling real in her words “If this sh*t real pinch me, no noise then it must be!”, and Mani Strings chorus being she can’t choose between two guys and doesn’t want to loose either of them.”
What was the writing process for the song?
“The writing process for this song started with me in the studio late night and thinking about this person I have really strong feelings for and really close to. My mind was all over the place at the time. This girl I was writing about can cook, sing, clean, dress so amazing, and smart. So after hearing what Mani Strings laid down on the track and I was loving the beat produced by Trapteam Exclusive, I just freestyled and poured my heart into my two verses. I left the middle blank, because I knew exactly who I wanted on this track Y0Cvndy. I reached out to her and asked her to hop on the track, and when she sent it back I instantly fell in love with the song and knew it’s gonna be a single.”
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
“What the lyrics mean to me is that you should admire the good people in your life and in your relationships because they truly love you and everyone deserves to be loved.”
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
“When I performed this song I relax a little bit more, normally when I perform I go in like the dominant strong minded rapper I am. The next time I perform this song I’m going to bring out Y0Cvndy to perform with me.”
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
“Honestly no, they couldn’t. I am a very out there artist who is always changing and evolving. No one honestly has me figured out or can really pin point my personality.”
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
“Yes, there is a video released. The video is more visual and sadly doesn’t have a concept sadly. We wanted a amazing video, and had planned one. With there people on the song our schedules got the best of us and we could film in the way we wanted to.”
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
“The motivation behind my music is just me wanting to climb my music ladder until I reach the top! Now I have fans that depend on me, and they love seeing me perform, make videos, record songs, release projects, and promote. I will never let my fans down. I’ve wanted to be a musician since I was seven years old, and ten years later I’m living my dream and blew past everything I thought I would do. Also I do what I do just to keep my haters mad twenty four seven.”
