Check out the interview below about their new single, “These Mixed Emotions.” Let us know if you’re feeling this one.
Why did you select this song as your current single?
SF: We felt like this single was the best one to release at this time because it was smooth and we knew it would be a hit.
Jaydo: Where I live most people just rap about guns, extended clips, robbing, killing, all that type of stuff. This single is completely out of my comfort zone but its a different type of setting I’m bringing to the table showing that I’m versatile and can expand my ways with music.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
Jaydo: It can’t… the rest of my mix-tape has a different tone. The rest of the mix-tape is really pointing towards a more of a “wake up and listening to what I have to say” type of feeling i want for people to understand through my music that i do this for fun, but i also have a serious side to the music that I don’t think my generation would want to hear.
SF: This single relates to the EP because its that Bang that light the Fire of the other songs soon to come out
What was the writing process for the song?
SF: The writing process for my verses and chorus took hours to write. I had to make it beautiful.
Jaydo: We played the beat and I got to free styling off the head and every bar I said I’d just jot it down in my phone in the notes section it came together pretty fast.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
Jaydo: It’s about a girl that’s confused over guys, and she doesn’t know if she wants to stay with same man or explore and find a new one, because her last man wasn’t treating her right, so she has mixed emotions she doesn’t know what to do
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
SF: Performing this song in public will be a lot of fun. I love to sing so I put everything in it.
Jaydo: It’s one smooth chill moment. The lights dim inside the crowd, with a mood lightning background, listening to the beat while you hear SFs vocals. Then you see me rapping my part making eye connection to the prettiest girl in the building walking to the edge of the stage to for the performance to the crowd hype.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
SF: My fans can summarize a little about me in this song by not everything. It’s just one side of me.
Jaydo: NO not at all, this song shows the little bright side I have left in me “lol”. This song is about a girl in general, any other song is about me, or how I’ve lived before or what I been through, my goals, my plans, and experience.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
SF: We had a video made to show the fans what we looked like and our energy. We have an official video for the song planned in the future.. This one was a preliminary intro.
Jaydo: There is a video completed, check it below the interview. You can go on our Instagram at @sacredjuicemusic and click the link in bio to see it too. But i feel as if we can make another video with more shots and extras that go with the song, better background and things that can make it POP. This was just a quick video to go with the single release.
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
Jaydo: SUCCESS just knowing that fact that anybody can do it and anything is possible. My life is moving slow but it’s crazy because bad things been happening I haven’t been making any progress, but I see a door opening for me and I’m going to take this chance in a humble way
SF: I came up with my portion on this song cause the girls have lots of mixed emotions and sometimes you get caught up.. I like to do ballads and songs that touch people. I want them to feel it!
