Joan Rivers once said “I succeeded by saying what everyone else is thinking” and I must say she will be missed because of that reason. On 9/4/14 Joan passed away at the age of 81 surrounded family and friends. Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers decised to take her mother off life support after suffered complications while having throat surgery at Yorkville Endoscopy on August 28, when she stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest. She was rushed to New York City’s Mount Sinai Hospital, where she fell into a coma.
Since the complication the New York State Department of Health has launched an investigation into Yorkville Endoscopy to find out what happened during what was supposed to be routine surgery.
She will be missed. RIP
