Reverse Order was a producer’s pick for season 7 of America’s Got Talent.
Reverse Order’s song ‘Go’ was nominated for a Grammy. This has some big moves ahead make sure to stay tuned and check out this great interview about their current single, “You Set Me On Fire”.
Why did you select this song as your current single?
We chose ‘You Set Me On Fire’ as our current single because it’s just a fun feel good song to get people moving and having a good time. With spring break right around the corner, everyone’s looking to just let go and have some fun, and that’s what ‘You Set Me On Fire’ represents.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
This single is definitely the most ‘club’ oriented song on the album, but it fits nicely into the mix allowing the listener to experience a variety of emotions and sounds that you don’t often find on Top 40 albums anymore.
What was the writing process for the song?
I was in the studio with a buddy of mine and we were listening to some of our favorite Top 40 artists and thought, ‘Let’s change things up and write something that really makes people want to move and get out of their seats.” So we laid down a few chords, threw in some thick drums and bass, and went from there. Before we knew it, “You Set Me On Fire” was born.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
The songs lyrics are simply telling the listener to go out and have a good time, and if you see someone you like, go for it. You never know what will happen.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
Reverse Order has always worked hard to create an experience on stage that involves the audience. We often go out into the crowd to sing and dance with the audience, we jump around on stage, and we have lighting and fog machines. So I’d say it would be a ton of fun to be a part of.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
I would say yes because our fans know we like to extend our boundaries, try new things, and do things that other bands haven’t done before. This song was a song that extended our reach and really brought us into a whole new musical world.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
Maybe 😉
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
The motivation behind our music is to connect with people. Whether the song is happy, sad, or indifferent, its all about making people feel something and letting them know that there are other people out there who feel that same way.
