Great new music from International Rob a submission we received from our friends over a musicsubmit.com. According to Rob’s facebook , this is his story.
Everyone has a story to tell and a different way of telling it. Some people draw, write novels or style hair, however, Robert E McDonald artistically known as International Rob B conveys his story through music.
The name International Rob B can be described as a personable name because it came from a nickname his Mother called him at a younger age, which was originally spelled Robby.
Born in Frankfurt Germany on January 9, 1986 to the parents of Robert and Estelle, International Rob B has been creating music since his early teenage years. Artists in this day and age want to be better than the average, boasting about what they possess and desire to gain. Setting himself apart from the rest, International Rob B articulates his current lifestyle instead of portraying fantasies of riches or how he would spend them; living the “good life”. He also feels that he is the voice and representation of someone who has actually received a bachelor’s degree, played Collegiate sports and wants to display to others that it is possible to accomplish your dreams first and still pursue music.
International Rob B engages his audience by painting a picture of what being “Self-Empowered” means. The “U Knoo’w Movement” gives the term “Self-empowered” a new meaning by giving off a different perception from what is expected from you. The U Knoo’w movement means anyone who is determined to accomplish goals and face adversity. Nothing is ever easy but it is the hard work you put in that makes the difference and that is what Rob B represents as an artist.
“International” is how he describes his style of music. He creates music coming from a point of view that although he might be living in the Southern Region of the United States his music does not have to be limited to that genre instead his music sticks out.
International Rob B coins himself as “the king of smooth.” His style entails casual but edgy. International Rob B states, “You might see me in converse or vans but always with a button up or polo.” His music is smooth, not forced, but instrumentally makes sense as you hear his flow through the story that he tells.
Having performed in various cities such as Minneapolis, MN, Northfield MN, Orlando, FL, Tampa, FL, Jacksonville FL, Atlanta GA, Macon GA, Warner Robins GA, Lakeland FL;
International Rob B’s long term goals entails traveling to more destinations around the world to obtain success in telling his story for all those who relate.
International Rob B has been featured on 2 mix tapes, released a mix tape, demo, E.P. and interviewed by 7 online radio stations. His short term goals entail being the topic of discussion and what people want their children to immolate. His long term goals entail continuing to grow as an artist with each project, growing city to city and becoming a household name in the music industry. His latest releases are “Progression The EP”, “Evolve” and “Evolve Reloaded” which is a compilation of the best tracks from “Progression The EP” & “Evolve”. This summer International Rob B will be releasing his new project “Flourish” along with another video release.
International Rob B states that “When we think of something different, we think of something foreign or international and I think that this best describes who I am as an artist.”

Why did you select this song as your current single?
As an up and coming artist you want the world to be able to identify with who you are as an artist. I picked this single because it displays my style as an artist which is HipHop and Soul.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
This single sets the mood for the LP as it tells a story about your companion or significant other being there for you countless times and you just wanting to celebrate them. This describes the whole mood of my LP “Flourish” which demonstrates a celebration of life and growth as an individual.
What was the writing process for the song?
The process started off with the production of the beat, I wanted something with a smooth melody but a little up tempo. Once the production of the beat was finished I began to write describing my personal experience with how I was taken care of during the good and bad times. I collaborated with a Chicago Artist with whom I gave the concept of the song to her and she wrote her initial meaning of the song in chorus form.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
The song lyrics mean hope, celebration, and a tribute to the one who stood in your corner. The lyrics suggest that no matter what happens moving forward, I will always have your back.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
Since this song is a little bit slower paced at times I would start of by using a mic stand being more animated with my movements. I would then break away from the mic stand and work the crowd for the climax of the song. The lyrics would be performed with a great deal of passion and emotion.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
I believe they can, my fans would have the ability to depict which direction I would be moving in as far as my artistry goes.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
There are talks about a music video being done for this song. Details to come so stay tuned.
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
My motivation behind my music is my family and God. My family because they sacrifice so much to allow me to pursue my career so in return I want to make them proud and do the best I can to provide for them. God, because with him I know it’s possible and it is through him that I am blessed to make music today.
