“Rush Like Wow,” is honestly by far my favorite song I have ever posted on this site. I have honestly listened to it about 20 times already. “Rush Like Wow,” is from UK artist Ozonna. He said the easiest way to pronounce it is Wizard of OZ + MadONNA= Ozonna. Ozonna is on the rise according to his social media pages and the simple amount of hits he has on his songs posted on soundcloud.com.
According to his facebook page Ozonna is the newest British musical invasion to hit the United States is Ozonna. This quirky 19 year-old London artist who has played for audiences all over the UK is now finally getting noticed on this side of the pond! Ozonna is an extroverted character who makes truly unique, contemporary electro-pop music. A musician as well, Ozonna plays the Ukulele and it blends perfectly with his unique, high-powered, beautiful voice. Why did you select this song as your current single?
It’s been out on the internet for a while and the reaction to the song is really amazing, It’s probably my most successful song to date so I am releasing it officially.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
I am currently finishing up my e.p but it’s not decided if “Rush Like WoW” will be a part of the e.p. It might be added as a bonus track that’s still being decided. I want the e.p to feel like a body of work, which it is and I’m not sure how it’ll fit in terms of production as I recorded the song in London with ‘David the Producer’. I am currently now based in New York working with different producers on the e.p and really exploring my sound so I will have to see how it fits with the e.p. But I’m leaning more towards the idea of having it as a bonus track.
What was the writing process for the song?
I wrote it in the studio with David the producer, he was just playing some chords on the piano and I just started to write the music with ease. I think that’s the best way to write music, when the song just sort of writes itself.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
They mean a lot to me. I don’t really write if I’m not inspired or if it’s not relatable to me. I mean I wrote the song so quickly about a previous relationship and summed things up pretty. I like to write music from experience.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
It’s been a while since I performed live, I’ve really taken a lot of time creating this e.p but I can’t wait to get back to doing live shows again. I used to perform a lot around London, I performed practically everywhere and it’s always been an amazing experience for me. The stage for me is somewhere I can fully express myself and really let the music speak for itself. I really cannot wait to get back onstage with my new music and starting this new exciting journey with them.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
It gives a pretty good sense of my sound as an artist, it gives a taste but I think the e.p will be more of an introduction to my sound.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
We are talking about it. I’ve spent a lot of time working on the e.p but I’m in talks with a label in New York to release it as a single in preparation for my e.p. I really want to do it properly but it might not be a part of my upcoming e.p. That hasn’t been decided yet so I just look at “Rush Like Wow” as a little taster for the e.p. but yes there should be a video.
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
I am just a really passionate artist and this is truly just who i am just motivated to do what i love and music is truly my first love. Music is my motivation.
