After months of speculation by the fans and media, tons of searching by the producers, American Idol finally found its last judge Harry Connick, Jr. Idol kicked odd today with new judge along with returning Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer is returning after a hiatus and a return to music after American Idol rejuvenated her career (business woman). Urban is returning after the disastrous season 12 with the Nicki’s and Mariah’s constant bickering. According to the Huffington Post Keith stated, “I think this season of ‘Idol’ is gonna be a blast,” and “New team, new energy and a whole new field of artists to be discovered and given a chance!”
Even with the new faces and or new lineup whatever you call it, we still will have some familiar faces with Ryan Seacrest as the host and Da Dog will be the new in-house mentor. Randy Jackson had this to said, “surprise, surprise! I am so happy to be back as part of this amazing show that started it all,” said Jackson. “The original talent show is back with a vengeance and ready to discover the best talent in America.”
With all this great news for Fox I can say American Idol can’t be saved. There are now better singing contest on the same network. The American Idol formula does work but the constant repackaging has run its course and now it’s time to call it quits. But we do wish this show much success because as our site goal is the same and that is to showcase new talent and help them get to the top. American Idol is just at this point much better at doing it.
