Music News: iHeartRadio Music Awards being Sued Already?

140422_2775584_iHeartRadio_Music_Awards_Live_on_May_1As the first annual iHeartRadio Music Awards kicks off in LA, a Lawsuit is currently being filed to make this the first and only iHeart Awards. Radio Dogs has filed a complaint against Clear Channel and Premiere Networks saying that that the show is too close to their brand’s Radio Music Awards.
The trademark was registered in Feb 2003 and they are seeking an injunction against the show, its online presence shut down, materials destroyed and unspecified monetary damages “including all of Defendants’ profits or gains of any kind resulting from the actions complained of herein.” At this point the case is set for April 6, 2015.
Radio Dog may have a strong case against the Ryan Seacrest produced show.  On the other hand back in 2013 Radio Dog canceled their registration for Radio Music Awards. Either way this will be one to watch. Check out the full article on deadline.com
