There is some talented artist in this world that really doesn’t get the shine they deserve. Teri “Lyric” Green is one of those artists. She has had much success being nominated for song of the year at New York City’s Underground Music Awards with her song, “Can’t Back Down.” Other success includes being nominated for song of the year in 2011 with her song “Death of a Poet” and having her single “Cold as Ice” downloaded over 22,000 times. Teri “Lyric” Green may only be a few steps from really making an impact in hip-hop, as her being recognized for her talent around the US usually happens right before you get that big break.

Why did you select this song as your current single?
This song was chosen as my single because there are many times people assume because one has generated everything or because they see what appears to be success that one is happy and has everything. How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
My EP is the intro to my musical bio preparing my fans to get to know me better as a person not a artist. It tells them in the midst of everything I have received at times I can’t help but feel I have yet to feel successful due to past hurts that leave me bound in the past. I call it relatable truths. What was the writing process for the song?
The writing process was relatively easy believe it or not. I allowed the Melody to speak to my soul and the pen to release my heart on paper. What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
Everything!!! The Lyric’s are my bio I literally went from Orphan 2 Engineer and at times I feel physically i made it sure, but emotionally I’m trapped in the past as a young girl seeking freedom. The Lyric’s are allowing me to reach back to that inner child and attempt to revive her finally.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
Absolutely amazing, as a artist I create music to inspire others and heal to see someone else performing my works would mean I set out to be heard and it didn’t fall on death ears. Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
Personally I believe so. I believe my fans could get a better sense of who I am, and why I keep pushing.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
I am currently working on a treatment for the video. It’s a secret I can’t release the idea lol. One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
I want to inspire the uninspired, motivate the motivated, heal the broken, and give hope to the hopeless thru sound. I want them to reference me as a person with odds stacked against them yet they pushed thru so nothing can hold them back. I simply want to change lives with my music the way others music help change me.
