Why did you select this song as your current single?
This E.P. highlights a few remixes of the pop dance track “Make Some Noise” released late 2012. Many fans suggested dubstep and EDM remixes be made as well as an acoustic version, so I turned around and gave them what they wanted! A very fun endeavor, especially putting together the acoustic version, giving the tune a drastically different feel.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album?
The album contains several remixes of Make Some Noise, giving it different musical translations, from angsty to fun to dark to loud.
What was the writing process for the song?
It started with the hook as my songwriting often does. In fact, it started with two hooks and was originally going to be two separate songs (the chorus hook and the “feel like I got something to say” vamp at the end). However, I always loved the radiohead approach of taking two different songs
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
Make Some Noise is always loud and energetic. We first teach the crowd the ‘end wail’ right off the bat, then cue them in once we get to that portion of the song. Thus everyone gets to sing along. It’s always a fun high-energy live performance, and dually enjoyable since we get to connect with the audience!
