Music: I Want it by Atman – Providence

atman-1Check out great new music from Providence’s own Atman.
Why did you select this song as your current single?
This song captures the sentiment I am taking toward the music industry with this album series. Our team has a lot going for us, and it revolves around our work ethic and determination to our art. It’s more than just saying we deserve major label spotlight. We prove it, album after album. This song captures that emotion quite well.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album?
This song is off the front piece of the album. I took a step back to quickly touch on why I am so passionate about music, and our determination to get it into as many ears as possible. It’s a fun prequel to the core of the Silent King album.
What was the writing process for the song?
Jay & I were going back and forth on the beat. I’d work on the base; he’d build on it, start putting together chords for the chorus. All the while, I was writing for the track as well. All I could think of is how badly I’ve wanted the opportunity to be able to make music like this my whole life, with my close friends, casually blending our elements together. From that thought, the verses flowed out pretty easily.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
It’s a pleasant reminder to never give up and stay true to my core message while making music.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
An abundant overflow of energy. The lyrics are especially playful in this track, so I would have a lot of emphasis on the bars in each verse.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
It’s definitely a vintage Atman song. I could be summarized quite well by it, top to bottom.
Is there a video planned and/or completed, and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
No video planned for this track yet, but that could change quickly.
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
The experience of creating something beautifully honest and sharing it with the world is a prime motivator. The music should mean something to people when they listen to it. Trigger the courage to be the absolute best at what they hold closest to their heart, and care about the most. Creating that engagement, that relationship with my music, is a large motivator to keep making it.
