Check out this great new interview for rising R&B songstress Sassy Singz
Why did you select this song as your current single?
I chose this song because I felt that it would bring a refreshing sound to R&B. I want to bring back that 90’s vibe of R&B with a bit of today’s music.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
This is a whole new sound for me. I’ve been studying R&B from the 60’s to the present sound to create a new lane for R&B. I’m currently working on a new album and this song is an introduction to the unexpected return of R&B.
What was the writing process for the song?
LOL! I was on the road to ATL to do some promotion. It’s 8-9 hour drive from Miami to ATL so I decided to write the song while on the road. I promise these lyrics came out of nowhere lol. I still don’t know what I was thinking but I love the result!
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
The lyrics to Control is a fantasy really lol. I’ve never been brave enough to act it out but it is fun to imagine though!
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
Very interesting! I’m a true soul singer and it will be an experience that touches your soul.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
It wouldn’t be fair if they did! I have so much more to give but it is a window into my imagination and my passion for music.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
There is a commercial on YouTube.com/SassySingz that gives the prelude to the upcoming music video for “Control”. It is currently in the works by Iknoeq and 305 films and should be released sometime in June 2014. The idea behind the video is that there is a secret VIP sex club and I am the madam of the spot lol. I’m introducing a newcomer to the club and its sexy experience!
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
Love. I never planned to be an artist but my love for music couldn’t be kept to myself anymore. Most people that know me didn’t know I could sing til I joined the church’s worship team back in 2005. I think It’s a pleasant surprise to the music game J
