Music: Boys in Bands are Trouble by MoneyPenny – Salt Lake City, Utah

MoneyPennyMoneyPenny has a big year ahead of them, according to their website they are growing together, having new experiences, new stories to share, and exciting new travels internationally. Our new full-length album is set to be released January 2014. The songs on this album are a personal expression of us, the journey we have been on while writing it, and how we have grown over the years. This album is MoneyPenny’s life in song form and we were inspired to create music that ALL can enjoy, no matter where you are in life.
With this big year planned and great music we had to reach out to MoneyPenny to be featured on our site. Here is a quick interview about their new single, “Boys in Bands are Trouble.”
Why did you select this song as your current single?
Our current single is Boys in Bands are Trouble
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album?
This song fits in the rest of our full-length as it is a fun, pop~punk song that would probably bring on world peace if everyone heard it, along with the rest of the album.
What was the writing process for the song?
This song was written acoustically while on the road and I was missing a particular special someone. Being in a band and touring is amazing, but sometimes it can be tough when you leave loved ones behind.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
The lyrics are pretty simple and straightforward. It is a heartfelt song about being away from someone that I really love. Everyone has had an ache in his or her heart from being away from someone and I hope people can relate.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
When we perform this song, most people are singing along or have a smile on their face, while bobbing their heads because we play it with the same passion as we did when it was recorded.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
Yes, we are quite simple. We are MoneyPenny and we write songs about everyday situations including; personal struggles, relationship struggles, the difficulty of finding one’s place in life or saying goodbye to someone. We take these lifelong hardships and turn them into a happy tune. Hopefully giving hope and helping fans know they are not alone in this rollercoaster life.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
Yes, we just finished the storyboard. The idea behind the video is to enjoy what you’re doing in life because if you worry too much about the future, you can miss the present and the amazing adventures going on around you.
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
If life gives you lemons…don’t just make lemonade, eat bacon or something too. Have fun, love life, love trials, love it all and grow from it.
