CHRON, Billboard and DJ Times charted artist, is an American DJ and production duo who is rapidly making moves in the world of EDM. Why did you select this song as your current single?
JDub: When we finished Bass In Me, we thought that it would be a perfect first single for us. For one, its pretty commercial and catchy. Plus, we loved that it has a lot of heavy elements to it while still keeping things melodic. Above all, we love that it’s a high-energy track and we were excited to get people dancing!
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
Christianna: All of our songs on our upcoming EP have the signature hard-hitting CHRON sound, and “Bass in Me” is the epitome of it!
What was the writing process for the song?
JDub: Bass In Me was actually one of the first decent EDM songs I wrote. I had just come through a huge learning curve when I started working on it, and a bunch of energy came out in the process. When Christianna heard it, her creative instincts took over and she started scribbling down some lyrics. All in all, the end result ended up being a very raw and emotionally driven song.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
Christianna: A few years ago, I went to a big EDM festival for the first time. The bass was so strong that it felt like it shook my entire being. When I first heard the Bass In Me instrumental, I had a similar emotion and decided to draw on those feelings. I wanted my lyrics to describe that amazing feeling you have when the bass is pumpin’ and everyone around you feels like your best friend, even if you’ve never met them before.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
JDub: When we perform this song live its time to drop all inhibitions and get crazy! We both DJ together, but on this song Christianna usually comes out to sing it live and to do some serious head banging. Lately, we’ve been mashing up the original version of the song with a couple of the remixes to get things even crazier!
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
Christianna: Absolutely! We love to make songs in a variety of EDM subgenres and love to show different emotions, but as much as one song could, Bass In Me really shows what we are all about musically. The bangin’ bass and the positive energy is what we want to bring to all our shows!
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
Christianna: Yes, we have a music video for “Bass in Me” and two remix videos. When filming, we didn’t have a huge budget, so we just decided to go out and goof off and dance to our song. The video does a pretty good job of showing us being ourselves. Nothing fancy! Lol
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
CHRON: We think that music is one of the greatest gifts God has given the human race. It is our biggest passion and we want to use it in a positive way. Music is one of the best ways to get away from all the craziness in our world today. Our dream is to provide this release for people and to spread a positive love to everyone we meet.
