ARTIST COMMENT:
Why did you select this song as your current single?
We chose Anne Boleyn as the new single because it was radio friendly and a couple stations were already playing it. Hero Jr. doesn’t write songs for a particular format but every once in a while a track catches the ear of the public and you almost have to release it with the hope of getting a little extra exposure for the band. It also happens to be a favorite because it takes the theme of survival and getting on with life through hard times and puts a twist on it by insinuating that when life gets tough don’t lose your head (a la Anne Boleyn).
If there is a video for the song, please explain the concept?
The video, created by British filmmaker Liberty Kay, is a surrealistic journey with Caspar the friendly ghost and his “bat guide”.
Please tell us how this single relate to the rest of the Album?
The songs are loosely based on experiences, growth and introspection, as is A.B.
What was the writing process for the song?
Evan and Ken wrote this song over SKYPE between Bloomington, IN and Ken’s studio in London, England. Evan brought in the idea and the two tweaked it, wrote lyrics and arranged it. Working on SKYPE was like sitting in the living room and since Ken couldn’t be in The States it was the only way to move on with the record.
Please tell what it would be like to see you in person performing this song?
Imagine Jaws, having not eaten for a month, watching a school of large Tuna swimming slowly and deliciously at fins length.
