cLOUD9 has some good music! Of course after all submissions, we check out all of the music we can find on that particular artist right away. What caught our attention about cLOUD9, is that we ended up listening to all their music without even skipping one song. Their sound is so refreshing! They mash up some music that have nothing in common and make it sound GOOD!
If cLOUD9 does not make it, they will have a great career touring and helping people believe that there are musicians out there that are still trying to create new music without copying any other artist.
The Chicago Loud 9 Collective exploded on the scene in 2012. Comprised of veteran funk rockers, indie-reggae horn players, and MC Don D, cLOUD9 creates a unique blend of music that bridges culture gaps. Their shows are highly energetic, leaving it all on stage.
There’s nothing that they love more than creating music together and it truly puts you high on cLOUD9.

Why did you select this song as your current single?
We Selected ‘After Party’ because it signifies what cLOUD9 is about. From the intro of the horn section, the big sound of our band, to the vocals of our Singer and the spit fire lyrics from our Emcee
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
“After Party” moves as an introduction of to Chicago Loud 9 and ultimately the rest of our sound.
What was the writing process for the song?
We were able to come up with this triumphant horn part where we wanted it to act as a call to action to have a good time as soon as you hear it. Once we figured out the direction we wanted to take it, it was up to our writers Bryan Pray and Don D. to bring that vision to life and they paint a pretty vivid picture.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
After Party is about Life and how life is a party. For example College is considered one big party. The real party is the After Party; when you are trying to pay back all of our loans!
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
High energy, a lot of jumping around, dancing, and backflips!
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
I think who we are as a band is ever-evolving but ‘after party’ shows our personality, it shows us being a band who likes to have a good time. This is why we do what we do.

We want to go against the status quo of what’s being presented as Art in pop culture today. We want to find the box and not only live outside of it, but ultimately get rid of it.
