Music: Adrenaline Golden by P. Genz – NJ

P. GenzNew Jersey representative P. Genz had taking an affinity for verbal expression at admirable ages. P. Genz began rapping at the age of 6 and began writing at the age of 12. He claims, “I used to write some off the wall stuff”, in continuing he states, “I’ve always had a sense of flow though”. P. Genz and his undeniable talent have been deemed “ahead of his time.” Surrounded by his musically inclined older brothers, P. Genz had absorbed lyrical styles of some of the greats, such as, Eric B. & Rakim, Kool G Rap, Nas, Jay Z, Redman and Wu-Tang Clan.
Now, at the more mature age of 24, P. Genz has been working harder than ever to alert the world that his music has such lyrical and stylistic quality that it is worth taken notice of and listened to. He has established his company, Essence Gold Music, completed 4 solo albums, one collaboration EP with German Producer: JayBeats, and an accumulation of guest appearances. Staying focused on music and maintaining artistry, P.Genz isn’t looking at anything other than onward movement to ensure that music and the beauty of expression is not lost in the struggles of the past. He has come a long way and his path is only getting brighter.
Check out our interview with P. Genz focused on his new single, “Adrenaline Golden”.
Why did you select this song as your current single?
The reason I selected “Adrenaline Golden” as the current single is because of the energy in the record, I feel it has a certain aura to it. Upbeat but elegant and soulful in it’s own way.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
Well with the album “Ear Pleasures”, I wanted more energy like production to mesh with my signature sound and create a body of work with that kind of connection so I feel that this song represents the album very well.
What was the writing process for the song?
Once I heard the beat (which is produced by a duo called Fat Ducks from Poland), it pretty much guided the pathway for me to lay the lyrics down. The words were just coming to me and I just placed myself in the music and kept the momentum going.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
“I say I’m on it, baby I breed focus in my zone” — It means confidence, assurance, and a mindset that knows exactly what I want.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
aww man, It would be great. I’m actually performing it live June 13th for the first time so I’m excited about that. I feed off of the crowd’s energy so if they’re pumped up then that’s what i will give back plus more.
Could our fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
Absolutely. Alot of fans know me for the soulful content in my music so that’s there, the flow is definitely there and the lyrics is there. So yeah, definitely they can.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
I’m actually planning that now. I tend to visualize how I want it to be made in my head when I hear it so I want it to be special.
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
The fact that people can be inspired by the music, can use the music as a therapeutic outlet, can make memories from the music — all of those are motivation for me. Furthermore, the challenge of making timeless music keeps me going as well.
