Music: A Place To Shake by SKROU – Toronto, Canada

SAMKIROUSKROU is one of Toronto’s hardest working Original/Indie Bands out there; they are currently booked solid for 2014, busy touring from city to city throughout Ontario and showing no signs of slowing down.

They are also in the midst of releasing their second video for the single “Rock It Away”, straight off their Debut CD just released this past April. Check out their brand new single, ” A Place To Shake.”

Why did you select this song as your current single?
Our single “A Place To Shake” is one of our catchiest songs on our Debut Album, it represents the party rock attitude our band brings to all our fans at each and every show.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
A lot of the my writing on the album relates to the different aspects/portrayals of woman’s personalities; the single “A Place To Shake” relates in the same aspect.
What was the writing process for the song?
When writing the lyrics, it was a guitar melody that triggered the emotion for the song.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
The  lyrics for “A Place To Shake” are from personal experiences from throughout my music career; its about the happiest out going party girl in the place looking for a place to shake.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
If I were to see myself in person performing this song, I would see an artist with a high energy stage presence, passion, power, emotion and the ability to bring feelings to the hearts of those listening to the song.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
Our fans would describe us as Sexy, Hard … Rocker Boys, from the first guitar chord to the last cymbal crash !!!
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
The video for “A Place To Shake” is completed and available on youtube; throughout the video you get a feel for what the song lyrics portray; about a girl looking for “A Place To Shake”.
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
The motivation behind my music is for my fans to forget about their life situations and problems while listening to my music; and at the end of the day, and to give them a sense of feeling/ability to walk away ready to face life with a fresh new attitude.
