Why did you select this song as your current single?
“Symphony” is a fun, feel good song. We sent a bunch of tunes around to record execs and producers and everyone thought they were all good but, “Symphony” was just real fun and catchy.
How does the single relate to the rest of the EP?
“The Man Behind The Mask” EP is a collection of songs ranging from self introspection to unrequited love. Each song captures a different emotion at a different point in a relationship or in life. “Symphony” is that song where all things converge in life and love and just says “I’ll do anything for you”.
What was the writing process for the song?
The song was actually written for a girl that I knew for one day. She literally asked me to write her a song and I did. I sat down with a guitar and “Symphony” popped out.
What does the song’s lyric mean to you?
“Symphony” is a song that says everything is fine. I am happy with where I am and with the girl I love. Let’s not over think this. I am going to do whatever I need to do to make you happy and to be happy. It’s that simple.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
I’ve performed the song live numerous times and the crowd always starts clapping along. It’s great. It’s fun for me and the audience seems to like it too.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
I don’t think one song summarizes an artist. Each of my songs sounds different and the thing I really love is that everyone has a different favorite.
Is there a video planned or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
The video is on YouTube and has had such a great reaction in a short period of time. The idea is appreciating all of the little things that make life worth living. It’s OK to daydream and emphasize the importance of little things that mean a lot. I’ve been so blessed to attend college and have the support of my family, friends, and teachers in my music career. Work as hard as you can with a passion for what you do and the rest falls into place.
What is the motivation behind your music?
Each of my songs tells a story of how I am feeling at the moment. The stories are universal. We all share feelings of inadequacy or uncertainty. We all fall in love and we all get hurt. It’s ok to be sad sometimes and it’s really cool to be happy also. If I can touch people at the right moment with the right message and they can find some relief or joy in what the music is saying, there is no better feeling.
