J-Hen is On To The Next

J – Hen stopped by and dropped his new single “On To The Next” and we had to sitdown with him to discuss this possible hit.
Why did you select this song as your current single?
I selected On To The Next as my current single because it’s a song that has a great vibe to it and it’s a good song with a message that was recorded in Miami and Canada which are two of my now favorite places to visit.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
The single On To The Next is the first track on my new album, which is titled after the single. It relates to the album because it’s basically saying this is a great song, now on to the next one. It sets the tone.
What was the writing process for the song?
The writing process for On To The Next was a collaboration with some of the producers from Cash Money/Rich Gang producers in Miami and was produced by Ashton Adams and was written by Alex Price who are both from Canada.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
The song’s lyrics to me mean if you’re not happy with who you are with, then move on to someone else. Works for both parties involved.
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
Whenever I perform any of my songs, I like to go into this zone because my performance means everything to me and I just want to give my audience everything no matter how big or how small the crown is.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
I would say my fans would need to hear more of my music to summarize me as an artist. My music has a lot of different flavors to it. And I say flavors because I think each of my songs have a different taste to it. There’s something for everyone.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
Yes, there is a video already out on VEVO and other video sites as well as coming soon to television and on-demand channels. The idea behind the video was collaborated with those of up and coming Film Director Zach Ramelan and was to give the viewer the sense of you don’t have to settle for anything in a relationship. If it don’t work out just move On To The Next!
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
My motivation behind my music is I want to give my fans good music to listen to. Music they can relate to. I try to bring my fans into my music by telling a story about real life.
