Bulgarian neo soul artist Petya Dankova recorded her long anticipated first album “Sweet or Bitter”. Brewing for the last 4 years, the album has 10 tracks and is an explosive mixture of neo soul, jazz and funk.
Petya enjoyed every moment and aspect of the creation process of this project. Every song is a reflection of her real life experience – love, happiness, sorrow, and the long way of learning to share your experiences with the ones closest to you. Ones of the most prominent musicians in Bulgaria – Radoslav Slavchev (Riverman), Miroslav Ivanov, Bojidar Vasilev (Trom Bobby), Vassil Voutev (Soulization) and the lyricist Svetoslav Sotirov are the core team behind the album.
On stage, Petya is a master of the ability to communicate deeply throughout her music and the energy it brings. She was invited to officially present the album “Sweet or bitter” on the stage of the Bulgarian A to Jazz Festival – the biggest jazz festival in Sofia. Over the years the event has gathered over 60 000 people and over 200 artists. Among them Kenny Garret, Roy Hargrove, Michel Camilo trio, Richard Bona, José James, Frank McComb, N’dambi, Reel People and many new local and international talent.
Just a month after the release of the album, it gathers international attention of radio stations from across the world, DJ’s and producers with proposals for future collaborations.
