I really do think FIFA 21’s Ultimate Team puts a bit too much emphasis on Madden 21 coins your own squad; a much better player with the identical squad will beat you, however, a much better player with a better squad will absolutely demolish you. With a few cards over 90 bringing prices in the millions, it will not always feel entirely fair. But building a competitive squad is addictive, and I’m not sure it would have the exact same appeal if you may easily add, state, Cristiano Ronaldo to your roster.
I think exactly what the game needs is a better suite of manners, especially for offline play. Squad Battles was helpful for me when I was learning to play the match, but I compare it to something like Conquest and Showdown in MLB The Show 21, and I’m much more compelled to really use my players offline in these manners than I am to do anything at FIFA 21. There’s plenty EA Sports could do this, but it feels like it’s placed all of its attention on multiplayer, and left solo play to languish.
However, I must admit, I’ve garnered a larger appreciation for FIFA 21’s gameplay now I’m playing in a greater standard. I still think there are some big problems; AI controlled players act strangely occasionally, and it can be infuriating when you’re in an internet situation and a participant won’t jog towards a loose ball along with your pass goes entirely astray for no rhyme or reason. But I’m playing more like”real football” today, and that I even surprised myself how, when watching the recent Chelsea and Manchester United game in the Premier League, I was paying more attention to the roles of every player on the pitch and considering how I would be managing each offensive and defensive experience.
