Da Voicez is jazz-vocal ensemble developed from previous Rada`s vocal bands(since 2003). Rada`s jazz music groups won several International Contests “DoDzh-junior” (2004-2006) and took part in such festivals: MuzEnergo 2008, Jazz Territory 2010(II prize), Petrojazz 2011, Gnesin Jazz 2012, MusOceanFest 2012(“Jazz” prize), Wild Mint 2013, Usadba Jazz 2013 (the winner of contest), International Fireworks Festival 2013.

Why did you select this song as your current single?
“Wrong Modes” is very deep song. One often looks for slightest opportunity to present oneself to some dear person, though it often happens in vain. That laughable feature of human nature is the key point of my song. Why shouldn`t it be worth to be selected as the single? 🙂
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?
All four songs of EP “The One” are about above mentioned wicked human feature – I mean the putting of living being into the best corner of one`s soul. That position of living creature seldom gives the true view, no mistakes can be saw, no missteps may be permitted, just an ideal itself. “The Way You Feel” describes party-life, with its fast food of senses and screen shots of feelings; “Like You – Like Me” shows the wall of misunderstanding between two simple people that may become the very abyss in case one of them sees the other one through the rainbow of idealization; “The One”, which name was given to the whole EP itself, speaks about the destiny of the outcast, the one whose self-kicking strictness gives him worries and troubles, one after another; and “Wrong Modes”, the story of the gal shut up herself in the “Happy Birthday” box in the name of “love”, – this song`s title itself gives the name for such ways of living.
What was the writing process for the song?
The subject was found suddenly, just being placed into my mind by some sky-hand 🙂 Initially, the lyrics was attached to the 7/4 melody of the band I played with years ago. Then, after the end of its existence, the same words became the lyrics for “4-chords-tune” of my DJ-friend, as a result of my helping activity in his “too-many-drafts-without-exit-extracting” period of life. But it didn`t put an end to it, so the lyrics finally was settled into this melody, with these chords, with voice arrangement, etc.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
Except for obvious meaning, the song gives me some fun during live concerts. The silence that came after me smiling and saying: “..but he never came. And her air began to end..” – that is amazing for sure! 🙂
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
That may have some reason. Though the single voice can`t provide the listener with those harmony clusters I put into its arrangement – but the atmosphere of “the rubber of waiting” might be shown completely!
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
Partly, I guess. I`m the composer of more than one group, even two my main projects differ enough for being signed by another composer`s name, in fact. For jazz-vocal band runs far away from church orthodox choir. But in more narrow aspect of fan base that summarizing may have its place – “Wrong Modes” is written in my jazz-vocal traditions, so it may tell about my style if not the whole story then the main line.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
Yes, there is “Wrong Modes” film made by Marina Nebo. She created the illustrative sand movie, her techniques of sand animation gave my music correspondent emotional light, the living color. Video is available on YouTube, at my page.
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
I think of beauty of the human voice. Its damage may cause harm even to human health. Its being under pressure may feed some inner beasts of soul. Its freedom may heal. Everything.
