Radiating out of Lafayette/Baton Rouge, LA, Walter commands any stage, giving his all with each vocal note along with his on-stage persona. Appealing to the masses, Walter’s lyrical ingenuity combined with his emotional connection is fortified by personal experiences and the struggles faced by the younger generation that is often marginalized by the media. His diverse approach of marrying the essence of the 90’s with a modern twist is encapsulated by a crisp and tight sounding production which catches the ears of R&B, Pop and EDM listeners. Walter is set for his first release coming in Fall 2017, with his CD entitled “Dark Clouds Over Suburbia”.
Tell our readers about Walter Miller
Okay, so I am someone who absolutely loves everything about music. From singing, to performing, writing and producing, it never gets old for me! Also, I love laughing, going to the movies, going out and having fun, and just being around family and friends.
What challenges do you face as a singer/songwriter in this day and age?
I feel like due to me being so young, there are people that struggle with taking me seriously when I sing all of these songs about love, heartbreak, and just life in general. What they don’t realize though is just how many people my age are going through the exact same thing. Also, I feel as though songwriting is really underappreciated nowadays. I have so much respect for artists that take the extra time to write their own songs and share a part of themselves with the world.
You’ve already won a few awards and gain recognition – how does this feel?
I feel so incredibly lucky to have received the amount of support and attention for my music that I’ve already been experiencing. There’s been such an awesome amount of positive feedback for my music ahead of its release, and it’s amazing to know that after so much hard work, the music I’ve been creating really is resonating with people.
What can we expect from you in the future?
Hopefully still making music! I also would love to get more involved with the film industry, and I’m just really hoping that I can continue to find so many new, cool ways to experiment creatively!
