Ever since releasing her debut EP, Vanessa Elisha has been creating a buzz around her music. If you do a quick search on Vanessa you will find a handful of big blog sites showcasing her music. Most prominent, hypetrak .com, if you look at her social media you will find that major producers such as Jermaine Dupri and Brian Michael Cox are following her on Twitter. This is amazing because these people don’t follow just anyone. This simply shows that they see the talent that this young lady possesses.
This EP is composed of singles which means every song could be released as a single. Her voice is soothing with emotion she reminds me of new comer Jhene Aiko. If you don’t know Jhene then think of a female Drake that does not rap. This debut is superbly produced; Vanessa and her producer are in sink.
It is very hard to pick a favorite song as all the songs are on the same level. If I had to pick one off this EP, it was “Home to Me” this song boast of a very catchy hook that you remember after you hear it one time.
Overall, this is a great EP. but the lyrics lack a little depth but overall all the songs come together so well that it is hard to notice. In light of this, we give this EP a 4 out of 5 iMoveiLive Approval. Make sure to check out the link to the whole EP above.
