Bridges to Nowhere is not a quite a fitting title for Unparalleled Height’s debut EP.  Perhaps a better title is the Bridge to Rock Greatness.  If you’re a heavy rock fan who likes choruses full of screams and nice melodic singing verses, look no further than Unparalleled Height.
The EP kicks off with the song “Dead End” which opens with a Pink Floyd meets The Who musical vibe.  The first verse opens the door to the first of many vocal screams on the album.  In some rock music the vocal screams seem to be monotonous and never ceasing, you won’t find that on any of the songs skillfully prepared for you by these guys.
The third track on the EP called “Legacy” is a little more mellow than the rest of the EP.  For the first time the band chose to include orchestral sounds utilizing a string section and some keyboards that put you in the mind of something Queen might do if they were to release new material in the 21st Century.  “Legacy” is definitely radio ready.
“Bridges to Nowhere” was chosen as the band’s first single, I understand why.  Bridges to Nowhere is easily the tightest song on the EP both musically and vocally.  The band said in an iMove iLive interview that the song was the last one written for the EP and is the best depiction musically and lyrically of where the band wants to go in the future.
If you’re a rocker that wishes there was a band that could sing and play like Shinedown and infuse a little bit of Queen and The Who in their music, go to iTunes and pick up Bridges to Nowhere from Unparalleled Height, you wont be sorry.  Currently the band is vying for a spot on Rockstar’s Uproar Festival, if you like what you hear, you’re able to vote for them at Uproar’s festival website, which we’ve linked to on iMove iLive.
